Doyon Government Group opens office in Newport News

Region's Unemployment Rate Falls to 7.1% in April

Helped by an increase of almost 6,900 jobs in the region, Hampton Roads unemployment rate retreated in April to 7.1 percent from 7.8 percent in March, the Virginia Employment Commission said Wednesday. Port of VA and APM Terminals Reach Agreement

The terminal would be operated by a state agency, the Virginia Port Authority. A new manufacturing facility in northern Suffolk is expected to employ more than 200 people by 2014 with salaries averaging $41,000.
